Sometimes job posters will add their posts to the wrong state or even country. Never trust someone who says they will send you checks oversea either. Though I have confidence that you knew that before reading this.
Cross your t’s and dot your i’s.
- If you want to get a job on Craigslist, you need to have a resume.
I mean you REALLY need it. Most employers won’t even review an applicant unless said applicant has a resume attached. You’re guaranteed to make at least $3 to $5 more an hour and not be forced to work in customer service or retail, if you simply compose a resume. - Include a simple cover letter with your introductory email.
Make sure that this email is versatile and changeable so that you may custom tailor each reply to the company you’re sending to. This way you can put out a higher volume of responses out, which gives you a greater chance to receive quality responses. - Check for new posts OFTEN.
Check the job postings frequently and respond as quickly as possible. Because there are so many job seekers, you must be as quick as possible to jump through the window necessary to get an interview. - Be qualified for the job you apply for.
If you’re not 100% sure you can preform the tasks or requirements of the job, don’t even apply. But if you think you can handle it, don’t be afraid to make the jump. There’s a fine line between the two, but you would want to make sure you can keep your promises. - Be ON TIME.
When a job poster calls you in for an interview, and asks you to come in for an interview, make sure you know the address, phone number, and most importantly the name of the company and person you are meeting with. The employer will be looking for your ability to research and remember certain information.
